Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80% lean)

12 slider buns or dinner rolls (2–3 inch diameter)

6 slices American cheese, quartered

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

12 small lettuce leaves (iceberg or romaine)

12 thin tomato slices (optional)

24 dill pickle chips (optional)

¼ cup ketchup (optional)

¼ cup mayonnaise (optional)

Instructions

  1. Divide ground beef into 12 equal portions (~1 oz or 30 g each). Roll each into a ball, then flatten into patties ~¼‑inch thick.
  2. Season patties evenly with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium‑high heat. Cook patties for 90 seconds per side.
  4. In the last 30 seconds, place a quarter‑slice of cheese onto each patty to melt.
  5. Lightly toast slider buns in the oven or toaster.
  6. Assemble sliders: layer lettuce (and optional tomato or pickles) on the bottom bun, add cheesy patty, spread ketchup and/or mayonnaise on top bun, then close. Secure with toothpicks if desired.

Notes

  • Use ground chicken or turkey instead of beef, adjusting cook time accordingly.
  • Experiment with cheddar, pepper jack, or Swiss instead of American cheese.
  • Try alternative sauces like special burger sauce, mustard, BBQ sauce, or aioli.
  • Make a veggie version with mini veggie patties or grilled portobello caps.
  • Keep components separate when storing to maintain freshness.
