Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, milk, egg, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Gently mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  3. Form into 1½-inch meatballs and place on a tray or plate.
  4. Optional: Chill meatballs in the fridge for 15–30 minutes to help hold their shape.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  6. Arrange meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
  7. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until browned and cooked through (internal temp of 165°F).
  8. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling the meatballs helps them hold their shape during cooking but is optional.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for best results.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs to make the recipe gluten-free.
  • Add fresh herbs, chili flakes, or cheese for variation.
  • Best served with pasta, in sandwiches, or with dipping sauces.
