Ingredients

  • 2 cans (21 ounces each) apple pie filling
  • 1 package (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup (113 g) butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the apple pie filling evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the apple filling, covering the surface completely.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top, covering as much of the cake mix as possible.
  5. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Do not stir the layers—just dump and bake!
  • Try using spice or vanilla cake mix for flavor variation.
  • For added texture, sprinkle chopped nuts over the top before baking.
  • Great served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
