Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 ripe avocado, mashed

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup green onion, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 small flour tortillas

1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons lime juice

1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, mashed avocado, cheddar cheese, green onion, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  2. Warm the tortillas in the microwave for about 20 seconds to make them pliable.
  3. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling in each tortilla and roll tightly into flautas.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry flautas seam side down for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove flautas and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lime juice, and optional chili powder to make the dipping sauce.
  8. Serve the flautas hot with honey lime dipping sauce on the side.
