Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface and press the seams together to form a single sheet. Gently flatten with a rolling pin if needed.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle blueberries evenly over the cream cheese layer and zest lemon over the top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the shorter edge to form a log. Slice into 8 equal pieces using a sharp knife.
  7. Place the rolls, cut side down, on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use frozen blueberries straight from the freezer to prevent excess moisture.
  • For extra flavor, add a thin layer of blueberry jam before the cream cheese filling.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before slicing to keep their shape intact.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
  • Reheat in the microwave for 10–15 seconds or in the oven at 300°F for 5–7 minutes.
