Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup finely chopped broccoli florets
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
  2. Cut a pocket into the side of each chicken breast, being careful not to slice all the way through.
  3. In a bowl, mix the chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Stuff the mixture into each chicken pocket. Use toothpicks to secure if needed.
  5. Brush the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  6. In an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Do not overstuff the chicken to prevent leaking.
  • Use toothpicks to secure filling during cooking.
  • Resting the chicken after baking helps retain juices.
