Ingredients

  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 (11-oz) bag caramel candies (about 40 pieces), unwrapped
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Place the caramel candies and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture melts and becomes smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and gently fold in the crispy rice cereal until fully coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly to create an even, compact layer.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round, until fully melted and smooth.
  6. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the caramel cereal layer.
  7. Refrigerate the bars for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is set.
  8. Slice into squares or bars and serve.

Notes

  • Use milk or dark chocolate to change up the flavor.
  • Add mini marshmallows with the cereal for extra chew.
  • Top with coarse sea salt for a sweet-salty twist.
  • Mix in chopped nuts for extra crunch.
  • Drizzle with white chocolate after chilling for a decorative touch.
