Ingredients

  • 4 fresh figs, halved
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar
  • 2 cups (500 ml) plain thick yogurt (Mediterranean-style)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Toss the halved figs in melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  3. Place figs cut-side down in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until caramelized and golden.
  4. Flip the figs and remove from heat. Let rest for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve scoops of yogurt on plates or bowls.
  6. Top with the warm caramelized figs and drizzle with honey before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm figs to prevent them from falling apart while cooking.
  • Substitute butter with coconut oil and dairy yogurt with plant-based alternatives for a dairy-free version.
  • Try adding cinnamon, vanilla, or a splash of balsamic glaze for added flavor.
  • Serve over granola or ice cream for a heartier dessert option.
