Ingredients

  • 1 shot espresso or ¼ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
  • 4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 1 teaspoon rose water (food-grade)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup
  • 1 teaspoon dried rose petals (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine milk, crushed cardamom pods, and rose water. Heat over low-medium until steaming (do not boil).
  2. Remove from heat and strain out the cardamom pods.
  3. Brew espresso or strong coffee and pour into a mug. Stir in vanilla syrup.
  4. Froth the flavored milk using a frother, French press, or whisk until foamy.
  5. Slowly pour the milk over the coffee, holding back foam with a spoon, then spoon foam on top.
  6. Garnish with dried rose petals if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use ground cardamom if pods aren’t available—just a pinch.
  • Adjust rose water for stronger floral flavor if preferred.
  • Try honey instead of vanilla syrup for a floral sweetness.
  • Make it iced by chilling milk and coffee, then serve over ice.
  • Add cinnamon or nutmeg for extra spice.
