  • Method: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 large lettuce leaves (butter lettuce, romaine, or iceberg)
  • Sliced tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard (optional toppings)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until softened.
  2. Add ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheddar until melted and coating the beef mixture.
  4. Lay out lettuce leaves and spoon beef mixture into each one.
  5. Add toppings like tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, or mustard as desired.
  6. Fold lettuce around filling like a taco and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use butter lettuce for softer wraps or iceberg for extra crunch.
  • Swap beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter variation.
  • Add jalapeños or avocado for heat and creaminess.
  • Keep lettuce separate until serving to prevent sogginess.
  • Great for meal prep—the beef mixture stores and reheats well.
