Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all‑purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup semi‑sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup red & green M&M’s
  • ¼ cup Christmas jimmies
  • Extra Christmas sprinkles, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla; stir to combine.
  4. Mix in flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, M&M’s, and jimmies.
  6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.
  8. While still warm, sprinkle extra sprinkles on top. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Swap in white chocolate chips or crushed peppermint for flavor variation.
  • Use gluten‑free flour to make it gluten‑free.
  • Freeze sliced bars between parchment paper for up to 2 months; thaw before serving.
  • For clean slices, let bars cool fully or chill slightly before cutting. Using a hot, clean knife helps too.
