Ingredients

  • 500 g halal beef or chicken sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 240 ml cooking cream
  • 120 ml chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 30 g grated Parmesan-style halal cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly browned. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the onion and bell peppers. Sauté for about 6 to 8 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the paprika, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Add the tomato paste and mix well to coat the vegetables.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and cooking cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then add the browned sausage back into the skillet.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let everything simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken. Stir in the grated cheese until melted and smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality halal sausage for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the peppers to keep them slightly crisp.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick if desired.
  • Pairs well with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
