Ingredients

  • 1 medium sweet potato, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Scrub the sweet potato under cold running water and pat dry.
  2. Cut into evenly sized 1/2-inch cubes for uniform cooking.
  3. Place cubes in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil if using. Add salt, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, black pepper, and cumin. Toss until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  5. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8 minutes.
  6. Shake the basket and continue cooking for 5–7 minutes, until crispy outside and fork-tender inside.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl, toss with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a sweet version, toss with 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt instead of savory spices.
  • Add 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Use smoked paprika instead of regular paprika for deeper flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months in a freezer-safe container.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 3–5 minutes to restore crispiness.
