Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in beef bouillon, salt, seasoned salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Pour in water and bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Stir in the uncooked white rice, ensuring it is fully submerged.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  9. Fluff with a fork and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use ground chicken or turkey for a lighter version.
  • Add garlic or chili powder for extra flavor or heat.
  • Frozen peas or corn can be stirred in during the last 5 minutes.
  • Brown rice works too—just adjust cooking time and liquid accordingly.
  • Great for meal prep and reheats well.
