Ingredients

  • For the Chicken Pillows:
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, finely shredded
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cans (8-count each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, butter, green onions, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix until smooth.
  3. Open crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of chicken mixture in the center of each triangle and fold corners over to seal, forming a pillow shape.
  5. Roll each pillow in seasoned breadcrumbs to coat completely.
  6. Place pillows on the prepared tray and bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Meanwhile, make the sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
  8. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring, until thick and creamy.
  9. Serve the baked pillows hot, topped with warm creamy Parmesan sauce.

Notes

  • Seal crescent edges firmly to prevent leaks while baking.
  • For a cheesier filling, add shredded mozzarella to the chicken mixture.
  • To lighten the sauce, use 2% milk or a dairy-free alternative.
  • Freeze unbaked pillows for up to 2 months; bake directly from frozen.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven to keep them crisp.
