Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cans (12.4 ounces each) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish and tilt to coat the bottom evenly.
  2. Separate cinnamon rolls and cut each into 8 pieces. Spread them evenly in the dish. Set icing aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top, then drizzle with maple syrup.
  6. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown and the center is set.
  7. Cool for 15 minutes. Warm the reserved icing in the microwave for 10–15 seconds and drizzle over the casserole before serving.

Notes

  • Best served warm on the day it’s made.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
  • Add fruit like diced apples or berries for variation.
  • For less sweetness, reduce icing or maple syrup amounts.
