Ingredients

  • For the Beef Bites:
  • 1 lb (450g) beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • For the Creamy Mashed Potatoes:
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Let beef sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. Pat dry and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef in batches and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, then return beef to pan and toss to coat. Sprinkle with parsley.
  4. Place potato chunks in a large pot with salted water. Boil for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender.
  5. Drain potatoes and return to pot. Add butter, milk or cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mash until creamy, adjusting texture as desired.
  6. Serve beef bites over mashed potatoes, drizzle with garlic butter sauce, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Use chicken or pork cubes instead of beef for variation.
  • Swap mashed potatoes for cauliflower mash for a lighter option.
  • Add shredded cheese to mashed potatoes for extra richness.
  • Enhance beef with smoked paprika for a smoky twist.
  • Store leftovers for up to 3 days; reheat with a splash of milk or on low heat.
