Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the cod fillets in the baking dish and brush each one generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  4. Arrange lemon slices on top of each fillet.
  5. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with extra parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Notes

  • Thaw frozen cod fully and pat dry before baking.
  • Swap butter with olive oil for a dairy-free option.
  • Use smoked paprika for deeper flavor or fresh herbs like thyme or dill for variation.
  • Don’t overbake — fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork.
  • Bake in foil for easier cleanup and added moisture retention.
