Ingredients

  • For the Apple Filling:
  • 6 medium sweet apples, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tsp coconut oil
  • For the Crumble:
  • 2/3 cup rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup pecans (or walnuts)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Chop the apples and sauté in a pan with coconut oil, cinnamon, and salt over medium-high heat. Cover and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  3. In a food processor, blend oats, pecans, coconut oil, honey, and water for about 30 seconds until crumbly and sticky.
  4. Lightly oil or line a small baking dish with parchment paper. Spread the sautéed apples evenly across the bottom.
  5. Form small crumble clusters with your fingers and distribute over the apples.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly and serve warm with yogurt, milk, or a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan version.
  • Almonds or sunflower seeds can replace pecans for nut-free or different flavor profiles.
  • Add dried fruits or spices like nutmeg or ginger for more depth.
  • Mix apple varieties for a more complex flavor.
  • Add flaxseed or chia seeds to the crumble for extra fiber.
