Ingredients

  • 2 cups cold heavy cream (whipping cream)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 packet instant vanilla pudding (85 g / 3.4 oz)
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 2 packets petit beurre or graham crackers
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Whipped Cream: In a large bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  2. Make the Pudding Cream: In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding and cold milk for 2–3 minutes until thick but pourable. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Assemble the Layers: In a 9×13-inch dish, spread a thin layer of the cream mixture on the bottom. Add a layer of crackers. Spread half the cream mixture over the crackers, then top with half of the sliced strawberries.
  4. Add another layer of crackers, followed by the remaining cream and strawberries.
  5. Top with Chocolate Sauce: Drizzle chocolate sauce over the top in thin lines or patterns.
  6. Chill: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow layers to meld and soften.
  7. Serve: Slice into squares and serve chilled. Optionally garnish with extra strawberries or chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Chilling overnight gives the best texture as the crackers fully soften.
  • Use a mix of berries for added color and flavor.
  • Let the cake sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
  • Do not freeze; texture may be compromised upon thawing.
  • Top with decorative elements like mint leaves or powdered sugar for presentation.
