Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup mini peanut butter cups, chopped
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk until smooth. Let thicken for a few minutes.
  3. Spread pudding evenly into the prepared dish.
  4. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over pudding layer.
  5. Drizzle melted butter and peanut butter over the top. Swirl gently without fully mixing.
  6. Scatter peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, and peanuts (if using) over the surface, pressing lightly.
  7. Bake 35–40 minutes, until edges are set but center remains gooey.
  8. Cool 10 minutes before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

  • Use devil’s food or peanut butter cake mix for a flavor variation.
  • Chop full-sized peanut butter cups if mini are unavailable.
  • Top with caramel drizzle for extra indulgence.
  • Omit peanuts if desired—the cake is still rich and gooey.
  • Best served warm, but reheats well in microwave or oven.
