Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line muffin tins with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, eggs, mayonnaise, and water until smooth (about 3 minutes).
  3. Divide batter into cupcake liners and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Cool cupcakes completely before decorating.
  5. Frost cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
  6. Add pretzel halves as antlers, a cherry or red candy for the nose, and marshmallow halves with mini chocolate chips or candy eyes for eyes.
  7. Use vanilla wafers for added facial features if desired.
  8. Customize each cupcake to resemble different reindeer—have fun with it!

Notes

  • Red M&Ms, cinnamon candies, or piped red frosting can replace cherries for noses.
  • Use candy eyes for faster decorating.
  • If no pretzels, substitute with chocolate sticks or piped chocolate antlers.
  • Freeze undecorated cupcakes for make-ahead convenience.
  • Kids can help with decorating—great for a holiday activity!
