Ingredients

  • For the crust:
    • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • For the brownie filling:
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
    • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the caramel layer:
    • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press into bottom and sides of pie dish. Bake 8–10 minutes, then cool.
  3. Melt butter and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in melted chocolate mixture.
  5. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold into the batter until just combined.
  6. Pour half the brownie batter into cooled crust and spread evenly.
  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter and sprinkle with sea salt if using.
  8. Top with remaining brownie batter and spread to cover caramel layer.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly fudgy.
  10. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add chopped nuts over the caramel layer for crunch.
  • Use dark chocolate chips for a less sweet, richer flavor.
  • Try a chocolate cookie crust for a twist on the graham cracker base.
  • Let cool fully for clean slices or serve warm for extra gooeyness.
