Ingredients

  • 1 slice bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter (about 24g), divided
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed or finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Crush or finely chop the garlic and mix it with 1 tablespoon of softened butter.
  2. Spread the garlic butter onto one side of the bread slice.
  3. Toast the bread in a hot pan over medium heat until both sides are golden and crisp. Set aside.
  4. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add salt to taste, and beat until fully combined.
  5. Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon butter in a nonstick pan over medium-low heat.
  6. Pour in the eggs and gently stir as they begin to set, forming soft curds.
  7. Continue cooking until the eggs are just set and no liquid remains. Avoid overcooking.
  8. Serve immediately with the garlic toast on the side.

Notes

  • For creamier eggs, add a splash of milk or cream before cooking.
  • Fresh herbs or shredded cheese can be added for extra flavor.
  • Use any bread variety—brioche, sourdough, or whole grain—for different textures.
  • Garlic butter can be made in advance and stored in the fridge.
  • Scrambled eggs continue to cook slightly after being removed from heat, so stop early for soft results.
