Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Toss shrimp with the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 2–3 minutes without moving.
  6. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  7. Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet.
  8. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  9. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in garlic butter.
  10. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
  11. Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or preferred side.
