Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract until evenly mixed.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface, then cut them into squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the strawberry–cheesecake mixture in the center of each square.
  5. Fold each square into a triangle and seal the edges firmly using the tines of a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg to encourage browning.
  7. Transfer the turnovers to a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Allow the turnovers to cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened for smooth blending.
  • Do not overfill to avoid leaking.
  • Unbaked turnovers can be frozen and baked directly from frozen.
