Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup harissa
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each, skinless, preferably center-cut)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked rice for serving
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the harissa, honey, and lemon juice until smooth and well combined.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot.
  3. Season both sides of the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper.
  4. Place the salmon in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes without moving until the bottom forms a golden crust.
  5. Carefully flip the salmon fillets and pour the harissa-honey sauce into the skillet.
  6. Allow the sauce to bubble gently while spooning it over the salmon as it cooks.
  7. Continue cooking for about 2 minutes until the salmon reaches your preferred doneness and the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
  8. Transfer the salmon to serving plates and spoon the remaining sauce from the skillet over the top.
  9. Serve over warm rice and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less harissa depending on your preference.
  • For extra depth of flavor, add 1 teaspoon minced garlic to the sauce.
  • You can bake the salmon at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes instead of pan-searing.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables, couscous, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
