Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 115°F)
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • For the topping:
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup whole milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Optional Halal-friendly toppings:
  • 1/2 cup sliced vegetables (bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives)
  • Halal beef or turkey pepperoni, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix into a soft dough. Add olive oil and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 60–90 minutes until doubled.
  4. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Lightly grease two 9-inch round cake pans with olive oil.
  5. Divide dough in half and press into each pan, going slightly up the sides.
  6. Spread 1/4 cup pizza sauce over each crust. Sprinkle cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan evenly. Add pepper and any optional toppings.
  7. Bake for 12–14 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
  8. Remove pizzas from pans, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours.
  • Let dough rest if it resists stretching in the pan.
  • Use a pizza stone or skillet for reheating to maintain crisp crust.
  • Customize with your favorite toppings, but avoid overloading.
