Ingredients

  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 75 g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 180 ml strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 18 ladyfinger biscuits
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together mascarpone, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and thick, forming soft peaks. Set aside.
  2. Pour cooled coffee into a shallow bowl. Dip ladyfingers quickly into the coffee to moisten but not soak.
  3. Break moistened ladyfingers into pieces and place a layer in the bottom of each dessert cup.
  4. Spoon or pipe a layer of mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  5. Repeat with another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, then a final layer of cream. Smooth the tops.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Before serving, dust tops with cocoa powder. Optionally, garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.

Notes

  • Use chilled cream and mascarpone for best results.
  • A piping bag makes neat cream layers but isn’t required.
  • Prepare up to a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
  • Don’t over-soak the ladyfingers or they will become mushy.
