Ingredients

  • 3 cups seedless watermelon, cut into cubes and frozen
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • ½ cup white rum
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup watermelon juice
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Lime wheels, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Freeze watermelon cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet until firm, at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. In a high-speed blender, combine frozen watermelon, ice cubes, white rum, lime juice, watermelon juice, powdered sugar, and kosher salt.
  3. Blend on high until smooth and slushy, scraping down sides as needed.
  4. Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with lime wheels if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness with more or less powdered sugar or simple syrup.
  • For a tangier flavor, add extra lime juice.
  • Omit rum and use sparkling water or extra juice for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Make watermelon juice by blending fresh watermelon and straining the pulp.
  • Store frozen cubes ahead of time for quick preparation.
