Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup full-fat Greek yogurt or plain full-fat yogurt, room temperature
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and yogurt, stirring until fully incorporated and creamy.
  3. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until no dry flour remains.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dough for 1 hour to help cookies stay thick.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop 1/4-cup portions of dough and place on baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set but centers still look soft.
  9. Remove from oven and cool completely on baking sheets.

Notes

  • Use dark or white chocolate, or chunks instead of chips.
  • Add chopped nuts, coconut, or toffee for extra texture.
  • A touch of cinnamon adds warmth to the flavor.
  • Freeze dough or baked cookies for longer storage.
