Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 package (about 100 g) vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk (for pudding)
  • 1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup crushed vanilla cookies or wafers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in mashed bananas gently.
  5. Pour batter into pan and bake for 30–35 minutes until done.
  6. Cool the cake completely.
  7. Prepare pudding by whisking pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
  8. Spread pudding evenly over the cooled cake.
  9. Add whipped cream layer and smooth it out.
  10. Top with sliced bananas and crushed cookies.
  11. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
