  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (custard sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (custard sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. Cook rhubarb with butter and brown sugar until softened, then cool slightly.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to form batter.
  6. Fold in caramelized rhubarb and pour into pan.
  7. Mix crumble topping ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle on top.
