Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt, then mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead into a soft dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cheesecake filling evenly, then top with cherry filling.
  7. Roll into a log and slice into 10–12 rolls.
  8. Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
