Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add chicken cubes and coat well with the marinade.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 6 hours for best flavor).
  4. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes.
  5. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers, alternating with onion and bell pepper.
  6. Preheat grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  7. Grill skewers for 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  8. Alternatively, bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  9. Optionally broil for a few minutes for a grilled finish.
  10. Let rest briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs can be used for a juicier result.
  • Marinating longer enhances flavor.
  • Add chili flakes for extra heat.
  • Use dairy-free yogurt for a dairy-free version.
  • Soaking wooden skewers prevents burning.
