  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 120 g granulated sugar
  • 60 g brown sugar
  • 120 ml vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 190 g all-purpose flour
  • 40 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 120 ml milk
  • 100 g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease or line a loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and oil, then mix well.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

  • Substitute half the oil with yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Use whole wheat flour for a denser, more wholesome loaf.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze slices individually for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat slices in the microwave for 15–20 seconds.
