Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in rainbow sprinkles gently.
  6. Divide batter between pans and bake for 28-32 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool cakes completely before frosting.
  8. For frosting, beat butter until creamy, then mix in cocoa powder.
  9. Add powdered sugar gradually, alternating with milk, and beat until smooth and spreadable. Stir in vanilla.
  10. Frost between cake layers and cover the top and sides. Decorate with extra sprinkles.
