Ingredients

  • 1 box red velvet cake mix
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for kneading)
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • Cooking spray (for greasing)
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix and flour, then add yeast mixture and mix into a dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic, then place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create the filling.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 1-inch rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased 9-inch pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Melt white chocolate chips with cream, stir until smooth, and pour over warm rolls.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Ensure yeast becomes foamy to confirm it is active.
  • Do not overbake to keep rolls soft.
  • Cream cheese frosting can replace glaze for a tangier flavor.
  • Add nuts or caramel for variation.
  • Best served warm for optimal texture.
