Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips or preferred mix-ins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips or desired mix-ins.
  7. Scoop dough into small balls and place on prepared trays, spaced apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers remain soft.
  9. Cool slightly on the tray, then transfer to a wire rack.
