Ingredients

  • 1 cup smooth almond butter
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • Sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square pan or container with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together almond butter and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. Add cocoa powder and vanilla extract, then mix until a thick brownie batter forms.
  4. If the mixture is too thick, add a little extra maple syrup. If too soft, add more cocoa powder.
  5. Fold in mini chocolate chips if using.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press evenly with a spatula.
  7. Spread chocolate frosting evenly over the top.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  10. Slice into squares and serve chilled.
