Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peach preserves
  • 1 cup fresh peaches, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually add warm milk and mix into a soft dough.
  2. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Spread softened butter evenly, then layer peach preserves over the surface.
  5. Mix diced peaches with cinnamon, cornstarch, and water, then spread over dough.
  6. Roll dough tightly into a log from the long side.
  7. Slice the log lengthwise, twist each half, and roll into spirals.
  8. Place spirals into a greased muffin tin and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F), brush tops with egg wash.
  10. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Drain canned peaches well if using instead of fresh.
  • Avoid overfilling to prevent leakage during baking.
  • Add nuts or vanilla extract for extra flavor variation.
  • Best served warm for optimal texture.
  • Reheat in oven to maintain flakiness, avoid microwave.
