Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix (about 15.25 ounces)
  • 1 can strawberry pie filling (21 ounces)
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer and spread slightly.
  6. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top (do not prepare it).
  7. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use dry cake mix directly; do not prepare it.
  • Ensure butter covers most of the cake mix to avoid dry patches.
  • Best served warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated.
  • Store in refrigerator due to cream cheese content.
